ROAD TRIPPING IN MEXICO: Hierve El Agua
Road tripping in Mexico. Hiereve el Agua, Oaxaca with our friends Luke & Emily.

Catching up with one of my closest friends Luke and his beautiful fiancé Emily was such a treat. Luke and Emily are Aussies living and working in Mexico with their brand Piece Collectors.
We had planned to head to Oaxaca while in Mexico as it is one of our favourite place to visit and they stayed on to meet up with us. It feels extra special to be able to have wonderful experiences and make memories with your friends from back home in a completely new place. We just adore these two.
I will upload more pics and videos in our insta highlights of our adventures together. I just don't want to ruin Lukes gorgeous images with my crappy iPhone snaps.
You can't see in these images the hilarious realisation that we had long missed the last petrol station, or get a full gauge of the rugged semi-desert landscape and isolated area where you would absolutely not expect to find a natural spring (...or fuel!).
A little about where we are in these images….
Hierve el Agua- translates to 'Boiling Water' however you can probably tell from some purple lips in the photos it was actually quite cool! They are a set of rock formations that resemble a cascading waterfall. These formations are white which is caused by freshwater springs whose water is over-saturated with calcium carbonate and other minerals. As the water flows over the rocks the excess minerals are deposited resulting in the appearance of a frozen waterfall.
(Actually I will pop one of my pic below so you can see what I am referencing here).
We are swimming in the pools above these rock formations.
